Edward James Olmos - (Gaff), nace en Los Angeles en 1947.
Conocido por su interpretación del teniente Castillo en la serie de TV Corrupción en Miami, este actor es uno de los principales abanderados del cine norteamericano de raíces hispanas.

Estudio en el barrio hispano de Los Angeles y fue jugador de béisbol y cantante de un grupo de rock antes de dedicarse al mundo de la televisión, con apariciones en series como Hawai 5-0 y Kojak.

Dentro de su carrera cinematográfica se le puede ver en películas como Alambrista (1977), El triunfo del espiritu (1989), Raza de campeones (1972), Mi familia y Muerte en Granada. 

En 1991 debuto como director con  American me, película que él mismo protagonizaba.
